TEAM TAN
TEAM TAN
ROLE: Research
Team Tan is a six-part JoySauce original docuseries that follows Samantha Tan, a 22-year-old Asian Canadian professional race car driver, as she rises through the competitive world of motorsport. With only a small fraction of drivers being women, the series offers an intimate portrait of Tan as she navigates a male-dominated industry.
Filmed during the 2020 racing season amid the global COVID-19 pandemic, the series follows her challenges on and off the track, from high-stakes competition to the pressures of visibility as an AAPI race car driver. The story also centers her family-run team, including her father, Ken Tan, highlighting the deeply collaborative nature of her racing journey. Click above to watch the series.
